Windsurfing: Blithfield Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: F 4-7 Surf / Sea State: Rolling chop Air Temperature: 12 Sea Temperature: Weather: Sun and showers Max Speed: Distance Covered:
A line of showers was passing through in the morning, causing the wind to
vary quite a bit. Rigged 6.2 and 5.3m to try to cover the range. Started on
6.2 and Bee 274. This was Ok but the wind soon picked up so took out the
5.3 and Max 2 Air. Could not get settled in the gusty conditions until we
realised the wind had picked up still further. Some rapid re-rigging
followed to leave 4m and 5.3m.
The wind then settled down for a fantastic sunny afternoon on 4m. The chop
built up and was more spaced out with nice smooth troughs in between
allowing ballistic acceleration. Still gusty, but it does not get any
better inland. Packed in only when exhaustion set in. Excellent.
